SPRING HILL — A traffic crash on November 16, 2023, in the late afternoon at the intersection of Powell Road and Barclay Avenue, near Powell Middle School in Spring Hill, resulted in a traffic control device being knocked down. This incident narrowly missed causing serious injury to the stationed School Crossing Guard, Mr. Carlos Cabrera.
Thankfully, Mr. Cabrera was not standing directly behind the traffic control device when it fell. Additionally, no children were in the immediate vicinity of the accident. Although the device grazed Mr. Cabrera, he was fortunate to escape major harm.
Paramedics at the scene checked Mr. Cabrera, who then declined further medical attention at a hospital.
