Governor DeSantis Appoints Twelve to Florida’s Judicial Nominating Commissions

TALLAHASSEE, FL — Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of twelve individuals to various Judicial Nominating Commissions across Florida. These appointments, covering multiple districts, are part of the state’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its judicial system.

The Second District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission sees the reappointment of Hunter Chamberlin, owner of Chamberlin Crowe, P.A., and the appointment of Chad Mizelle, Chief Legal Officer for Affinity Partners. Both are from Tampa, with Chamberlin serving until July 1, 2027, and Mizelle until July 1, 2024. Eliot Peace, from Dunedin, is also reappointed, serving until July 1, 2027.

In the Third District Court of Appeal, Daniel Schwartz of Miami Beach, Chief Development Officer for American Health Associates, is reappointed for a term ending July 1, 2027.

The Fourth District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission welcomes Patricia Flanagan, a partner at Fox Rothschild LLP from Palm Beach Gardens, appointed for a term until July 1, 2027.

The Seventh Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission includes new appointees Casey Arnold, a shareholder of Fisher, Tousey, Leas & Ball, P.A., from St. Augustine, and Erica White, a Senior Associate at Kinsey Vincent Pyle, P.L., from Port Orange. Both will serve until July 1, 2027.

Michael A. Sasso, a partner at Sasso & Sasso, P.A. from Winter Park, joins the Ninth Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission for a term until July 1, 2027.

For the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission, Jordan Richardson, an Associate at Heise Suarez Melville from Miami, is appointed until July 1, 2027.

The Twelfth Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission sees the appointment of Lisa Carlton, co-owner/manager of Mabry Carlton Ranch, Inc. from Sidell, for a term ending July 1, 2024, and Louis Najmy, Firm Principal of Najmy Thompson, P.L. from Bradenton, for a term until July 1, 2026.

Lastly, Jeffrey Carter, President of Jeff Carter, P.A. from Panama City, joins the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission, reappointed until July 1, 2027.
